The flavors of fall are in full swing even if the weather is not cooperating here in AZ this week. You see it is still hovering around the high 90’s, ugghh I know. I long for cozy sweater weather with hot apple cider or a glass of red wine sitting by a fire. Well that is not going to happen anytime soon! So what is a wine loving girl to do when you want a traditional fall drink but it’s still so hot your kids are swimming in the pool? Make Caramel Apple Sangria, that’s what!
I love sangria because it is such a versatile recipe, you can make it however you want! Peach Sangria, sure love that one. Traditional Red sangria, why not? That’s my favorite by the way! Carmel Apple Sangria, umm heck yes! This Carmel Apple Sangria puts an extra fun twist on it. It stays light and refreshing by using white wine like Moscato or Pinot Grigio, plus the caramel cinnamon sugar rim just oozes with a warm and cozy feeling.
This recipe is super easy to make you can literally whip up a batch in less than 5 minutes and be entertaining in no time!
Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 1 Apple, sliced and diced (I used PInk Lady Apples)
- 2 Tbsp Caramel
- 2 Tbsp Cinnamon sugar
- 1 Cup Apple cider
- 8 oz Caramel vodka (I used Smirnoff Caramel Kiss)
- 1 bottle white wine such as Moscato or Pinot Grigio
Directions:
Pour the bottle of white wine, 8 oz Caramel vodka and Apple Cider into a large pitcher. Stir to combine. Add a few diced apple pieces if you like.
Place the caramel on a plate and dip the rim of the glasses into the caramel.
Place the cinnamon sugar on a separate plate and dip caramel rimmed glasses into the cinnamon sugar.
Fill glasses with ice, pour in the sangria and serve!
