So I have a confession to make, my family is addicted to smoothies! I have a smoothie every morning for breakfast. It is a simple way to start the day off with protein and a serving of fruits and veggies. Plus, it is a great way to get your kids to drink some fruits or veggies that they would normally not eat. For instance, I always sneak spinach into my kids berry smoothies because the berries mask the green color and you can’t even taste that it is in there which means no whining of having to eat icky green stuff. WINNING for moms everywhere! The struggle is real and nobody knows better than us moms!
It is really so simple to throw this smoothie together in the mornings and provides my family with the protein and nutrients they need to jumpstart their day with no processed sugar added! I know many people have their preferred protein powder. Use whatever kind you prefer and the smoothie will still taste just as great!
This smoothie is my new favorite and by adding avocado to it, gives it a rich creamy consistency. I also use Coconut oil in my smoothie due to the fact that it contains short and medium-chain fatty acids that help in taking off excessive weight and boosts your immune system. However, in cold smoothies it can be a bit chunky. If you are a texture person and think this will bother you, you can use fractionated coconut oil as a substitute.
