With the kids heading back to school it is hard not to think of fall holidays and entertaining. Well if you are a planner like me then I have a treat for you! The most delicious appetizer that is the perfect blend of savory and sweet. Whipped Gorgonzola and Roasted Grape Crostini.
Savory, creamy gorgonzola spread atop of lightly toasted French bread and topped with sweet roasted grapes. Now that is one fancy pants appetizer if you ask me! Super simple to make and will totally WOW your guests.
Now along with this appetizer being super delicious it is hiding a healthy secret as well! I used plain nonfat Greek yogurt packed with protein to make the gorgonzola spread super creamy and spreadable. That’s right Greek yogurt! Crazy huh. Plus the roasted red grapes provide a ton of antioxidants. So you can feel good about binging on these delicious bites of heaven.
Since roasting grapes can seem like a daunting task let me share some of my tips to make the process a little less intimidating.
A FEW TIPS ON HOW TO ROAST GRAPES:
Don’t overthink this process, it is quite simple. Just toss grapes in a pan with a drizzle of olive oil. Add some fresh rosemary, a sprinkle of sea salt, and pepper then pop in the oven!
Grapes will turn to mush if you overcook them so be sure to roast no longer than 15 minutes at 375 degrees!
Pair these Whipped Gorgonzola and Roasted Grape Crostini with your favorite sparkling wine and you have yourself a super elegant appetizer. Did I mention these are completely drool worthy, probably so but I will say it again!
